Medium-term Planning Engineer – Open Pit
- A pivotal role in connecting the strategic to the operational, you will have the opportunity to have significant impact in the ongoing successes of this gold operation
- Expect to work closely with both the long-term / LOM planning team and the production function, you will translate that LT side into the three-monthlys
- This consistent interaction will enable you to extend your own technical experience, presenting opportunities for you to progress into the LT planning team
- The scale and breadth of this miner’s operations means that those opportunities needn’t necessarily be only from this site – giving you more options for progression
- Your close interactions with the production / short-term planning side will also keep
Key deliverables;
- Producing 3-Monthly mine plans aligned with quarterly budgets and forecasting
- Reporting on performance against same to long-term / LOM planning function
- Varied design work; tactical pit design, plus contributions towards project designs, including contributions towards development / closure piece
- Pit optimisation
- Developing and training the short-term planning team, ensuring they are successfully translating the medium term into weekly / daily plans and schedules
Key info;
- Company: Renowned Australian miner with multiple domestic and global operations
- Roster(s): 8/6 FIFO ex-Perth OR Residential Kalgoorlie (or surrounds) on a 4/3 roster
- Salary: circa $165 – 170k plus super, above industry bonus structure in place (paid quarterly). Residential roster carries a remote living allowance of ~$10k.
About you;
- At least three years’ experience in mine planning, including experience with medium term
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
- Prior experience with gold
- Comfort with mine planning and design software (ideally Deswik, Vulcan and/or Alastri)
