Senior Contract Specialist

• Employee-owned national consulting company who provide specialist expertise across geotechnical, pavements, groundwater and dewatering
• Projects across; major civil infrastructure/construction including alliance and JV projects with deep underground tunnelling infrastructure, wind farm developments, mining/resources as well as mid to high rise building construction with deep excavations and basements/foundations
• They have over 120 staff across Australia
• Supporting the who team across their national portfolio, you’ll report to the WA Regional Manager who has been covering the contracts function; she will be there to help you find your feet, freeing her up to tackle wider managerial and technical aspects
• Additionally, their existing management team is highly commercial, so your background as a more technical (potentially even blackletter) contracts specialist, ideally with a legal pedigree, would complement this – guiding the business on the interplay of terms and conditions and risk profiles across their contract will add benefit
• A collaborative, non-dogmatic approach coupled with an understanding that the business may chose to take on more risk for commercial reasons will set you up for success.
• The role will involve review, assessment, and negotiation on a range of contracts (AS4122, bespoke construction contracts, among others), through close collaboration with project managers, external legal advisors, and internal management

About you;

• Proven experience in contracts management (review and negotiation), across the construction and/or engineering sector
• Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business Admin, Contracts Administration or similar
• Largescale infrastructure and/or consultancy experience beneficial
