WA Technical & Business Lead – Mining Consulting Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary consulting firm delivering specialist services across mining, civil, and government sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and client-focused delivery, the business continues to expand its footprint in Western Australia and is now seeking a WA Technical & Business Lead to spearhead its Mining and Technical Services division.

This pivotal leadership position combines technical oversight, business development, and strategic growth. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the organisation’s mining consulting operations in WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the delivery of mine planning, design, and study projects for clients across Western Australia and beyond.
  • Act as a JORC Competent Person for applicable reserve sign-offs.
  • Drive business development initiatives, leveraging an established industry network to identify and secure new consulting opportunities.
  • Manage multidisciplinary study teams, ensuring quality, accuracy, and technical excellence across all deliverables.
  • Provide mentoring and leadership to engineers and consultants at various levels.
  • Represent the business professionally with clients, partners, and within the broader mining community.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ, RPEng or equivalent).
  • Recognised JORC Competent Person with proven sign-off experience.
  • Familiarity with NI 43-101 reporting standards highly regarded.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ mining experience, including strong consulting exposure.
  • Demonstrated success in winning, managing, and delivering study and operational projects.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client engagement skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a commercial mindset and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Full Australian working rights and a current driver’s licence.
