Accountant

An opportunity to join an ASX-listed gold producer in a hands-on Accountant role supporting its corporate finance function and interstate mining operations.

Based in the company’s Subiaco corporate office and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work across cost accounting, month-end reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations and operational finance support.

Day-to-day matters will include:

• Maintaining project cost centres and ensuring costs are accurately coded and allocated
• Preparing site cost reports, operational KPIs and supporting analysis
• Supporting stockpile, ore-in-circuit, gold-in-process and metal-accounting models
• Tracking capital expenditure, commitments and accruals
• Maintaining fixed-asset information and supporting depreciation and amortisation processes
• Assisting with annual budgets and rolling forecasts
• Preparing month-end journals, including reallocations, accruals, prepayments, inventory and intercompany balances
• Completing balance-sheet reconciliations and reviewing outstanding items
• Supporting month-end trial-balance and financial-reporting processes
• Assisting with audit requirements and supporting documentation
• Preparing exploration, tenement and related financial reporting
• Supporting GST, BAS, payroll tax and royalty requirements
• Assisting with improvements across reporting, finance systems and accounting processes

About You

• Sound month-end, journal preparation and balance-sheet reconciliation experience
• Exposure to cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory or capital expenditure
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work with finance and operational stakeholders
• Mining or resources experience will be well regarded
• Experience with Pronto, Pulse or comparable systems will be well regarded
• Accounting, finance or commerce degree
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
• Current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights

Particulars

• Permanent, full-time position, office-based
• Modern Subiaco corporate office, near trainline
• $110,000 – $130,000 + superannuation, commensurate with experience
• Occasional interstate site travel may be required
