Join an experienced team at the historic gold mine, located in the heart of Western Australia’s Goldfields region.

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Alternate Underground Manager to support this underground mining operation. This is a pivotal leadership role, operating on a back-to-back roster with the Underground Mining Manager and holding statutory responsibilities as Alternate UG Manager and Alternate Site Senior Executive in the Mine Manager’s absence.

About the Role:
In this leadership position, you will be responsible for the safe and effective execution of mine plans, including short-term schedules, budgets, and reforecasts, ensuring operational targets are met with available resources. You will oversee a multidisciplinary team including engineering, geology, surveying, and underground operations, and will play a critical role in maintaining production performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives across site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Technical Services and UG Operations teams to meet operational targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate mine plans and designs are aligned with production schedules.
  • Monitor development and stoping compliance with plans, geotechnical controls, and safety standards.
  • Drive drill & blast optimisation and support systems implementation across safety, production, and organisational areas.
  • Assist in capital project planning, budgeting, and delivery.
  • Ensure robust production reporting, reconciliation, and improvement evaluation processes.
  • Actively support and mentor junior team members to build site capability and performance.

About You:

  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanized underground narrow vein and open stope mining.
  • Strong planning, reporting, and communication skills with a structured and safety-first approach.
  • Proficiency in Deswik CAD/Sched, MS Office Suite, and preferably Ventsim.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead high-performing teams.
