THE OPPORTUNITY

If you’re an experienced Bookkeeper who loves keeping things organised, enjoys plenty of variety and is looking for a role with genuine flexibility, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for!

You’ll be joining a well-established business working across Perth and regional WA. They’re looking for someone who can take ownership of the bookkeeping and administration function, support the Managing Director and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes You’ll be the go-to person for bookkeeping, payroll and day-to-day administration.

This is a part-time role offering 20-30 hours per week with flexibility around how and where those hours are worked and the potential for additional hours as the business grows. No two weeks will look the same, so you’ll need to be comfortable switching between regular financial tasks and the occasional urgent request.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Take ownership of the bookkeeping function in MYOB, including invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and retention payments.
  • Process weekly payroll for employees and apprentices, checking hours against site diaries and coding costs to the correct jobs.
  • Manage STP, superannuation and Long Service Leave contributions, ensuring everything is accurate and completed on time.
  • Work closely with the external accountant and SMSF accountant, providing monthly MYOB files, financial records and supporting documents.
  • Coordinate apprentice onboarding, incentive payments, insurance and vehicle registrations, and keep company emails, documents and general administration organised across multiple business entities.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Strong experience in MYOB, Xero or a similar accounting package, including job costing along with solid bookkeeping and payroll knowledge.
  • Experience with STP, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable and superannuation.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and stay responsive when something urgent comes up.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with accountants, clients, suppliers, site team and employees.
  • Plenty of patience, resilience and a good sense of humour when working with hands-on site-based team.
  • Proven experience in the Australian market.
