Contracts Specialist
An opportunity has become available with a well-established ASX-listed mining company operating multiple producing assets across Western Australia.
Reporting to a Category Lead and working within an experienced Contracts & Procurement team, this role offers genuine exposure across the full contract lifecycle, supporting a diverse portfolio of operational mining and corporate contracts.
Initially, the successful candidate will support contracts relating to Exploration, Drill & Blast and Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) before transitioning into a broader portfolio covering Services and Corporate categories. Contract values typically range from $200,000 through to $8 million, providing exposure to a broad range of commercial contracts across both pre-award and post-award activities.
As you would expect, day-to-day matters will include:
- Managing end-to-end contract administration across both pre-award and post-award activities
- Preparing and issuing RFQs, RFPs and tender documentation
- Coordinating tender evaluations, commercial assessments and recommendations for award
- Negotiating commercial terms and supporting contract award processes
- Drafting and administering contract documentation in accordance with company policies and governance requirements
- Managing contract variations, claims, extensions and contract close-out activities
- Administering progress claims and supporting payment processes
- Providing commercial and contractual advice to operational and corporate stakeholders
- Participating in supplier and contractor meetings while maintaining productive commercial relationships
- Preparing commercial reporting, contract status updates, variation summaries and other contract documentation
- Working closely with Category Leads and internal stakeholders to deliver value for money while effectively managing commercial risk
About You
- Contracts Specialist, Contracts Advisor, Senior Contracts Administrator or similar commercial contracts roles
- Managing both pre-award and post-award contracts
- Tendering, RFx management, commercial evaluation and commercial negotiations
- Contract drafting, administration and ongoing contract management
- Managing contract variations, claims and progress payments
- Providing commercial advice to operational stakeholders
- Working within mining, resources, engineering, EPCM or heavy industrial environments
- Managing medium to high-value commercial contracts
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Working within ERP environments, with Pronto experience highly regarded
- Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Law or a related discipline will be highly regarded
Particulars
- Location: West Perth
- Travel: Monthly operational site travel required
- Working Arrangements: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with one work from home day per week once established
- Employment Type: 6-month contract through Scotford Fennessy
- Full Australian working rights are essential
