Scotford Fennessy are currently seeking an experienced Dewatering Technician to join a well-established gold mining operation in the WA Goldfields.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong dewatering background who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is confident stepping into a leadership role when required.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and repairing mine dewatering systems and infrastructure
  • Installation, operation and maintenance of diesel and electric dewatering pumps
  • Pump change-outs, fault finding and breakdown response
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of HDPE/poly pipelines, valves and associated equipment
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections
  • Monitoring water management systems to ensure safe and efficient site operations
  • Completing maintenance documentation and reporting
  • Assisting with planning daily tasks and coordinating work activities
  • Providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to team members when required
  • Upholding site safety standards and promoting a positive safety culture

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Dewatering Technician within the mining industry
  • Leadership experience as a Leading Hand or similar, or the ability and confidence to step into the role when required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fault-finding skills
  • Experience working on dewatering pumps, pipelines and associated infrastructure
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach with a strong commitment to safety

Essential Requirements

  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Working at Heights (within 2 years)
  • Confined Space Entry (within 2 years)
  • National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
  • Poly Welding ticket

Desirable Requirements

  • Forklift Licence
  • Gas Test Atmospheres
  • Previous gold mining experience
  • First Aid certificate
