As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in the end-to-end tendering process, contributing to the successful delivery of competitive, high-value bids across a diverse portfolio of open pit mining projects. This role offers strong ownership, variety, and exposure to projects valued up to $200M.
About the Role:
Tendering & Project Handover
- Prepare, review, and submit comprehensive open pit mining tenders from concept through to contract award
- Conduct site visits, quantity take-offs, productivity analysis, and detailed cost estimation
- Review contract documentation and ensure all client and commercial requirements are met
- Lead tender review processes with senior management and key stakeholders
- Manage project award handovers, including equipment selection, manpower planning, suppliers, subcontractors, and engineering approvals
Project & Cost Management
- Coordinate client correspondence throughout pre- and post-tender phases
- Prepare claims, variations, and cost code reports as required
- Provide ongoing project support, including monthly cost and productivity reviews
- Participate in project close-out and performance reviews
Technical & Operational Support
- Support asset management planning, equipment utilization, and overhaul priorities
- Track asset movements across projects and prepare equipment purchase comparisons
- Determine equipment charge-out rates and utilisation recommendations
- Develop mine- and project-specific open pit methodologies
- Undertake studies relating to mine access, haulage profiles, and ore extraction methods
- Ensure all tenders comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards
About You
- Degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong open pit mining experience
- Previous experience in estimation and/or tendering
- Proven capability delivering tenders valued up to $200M
