This is a rare opportunity to develop your early geology career and get your foot in the door with one of WA’s leading mining companies. You’ll develop your skills as a Mine Geologist and contribute to the day-to-day activities of a production mine.

While most Junior and Graduate roles in the industry are on a contract basis, this role gives you the opportunity to immediately begin your career in a permanent, full-time basis. FIFO on an 8/6 roster, this is a great learning ground for the young geologist. 

About you

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience or a related discipline, ideally a BSc with Honours or MSc.
  • Must have Full Australian Working Rights
  • Current WA C Class Driver’s Licence, with the ability to work safely in an operational mine site environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to collect, validate and manage geological and production data accurately.
  • Basic Microsoft Office and database skills, with a willingness to learn mine geology systems and processes.
  • Collaborative team player who can communicate effectively with geology, mining, survey, drilling and processing stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and safety-focused, with the ability to work with minimal supervision and contribute to a positive team culture.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist with the day-to-day management of RC grade control drilling programs, including geological logging, sampling, QAQC and sample submission processes.
  • Support geological interpretation through bench and wall mapping, logging and sampling to help define lithology, structure and mineralisation across the open pit.
  • Conduct production geology activities including ore mark outs, ore spotting and bench mapping to maximise ore recovery and ensure material is directed to the correct stockpile.
  • Collect, validate and deliver accurate production, grade control and reconciliation data within agreed timeframes to support operational decision-making.
  • Liaise with survey, mining, drilling, blasting and processing teams to support safe and efficient mine geology, ROM and stockpile management activities.
  • Work safely and in accordance with policies, procedures and Life Saving Rules while contributing to continuous improvement, environmental management and team outcomes.
