Management Accountant

An opportunity to join an ASX-listed gold producer in a hands-on Management Accountant role supporting one of its interstate mining operations.

Based in the company’s Subiaco corporate office and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for management accounting, cost control and financial support for the project.

The position includes approximately one week per month at the interstate mine site, allowing you to work directly with operational and technical stakeholders and develop a detailed understanding of site cost drivers.

Day-to-day matters will include:

• Maintaining project cost centres and ensuring costs are accurately coded and allocated
• Preparing cost-per-tonne, cost-per-ounce and other mine site cost analysis
• Investigating variances against budget and forecast with site personnel
• Supporting stockpile, ore-in-circuit and gold-in-process inventory valuations
• Tracking capital project costs, commitments and accruals
• Assisting with annual budgets across operating and capital expenditure
• Preparing rolling forecasts using updated mine plans and production schedules
• Delivering month-end P&L, cost centre and variance reporting
• Preparing journals, including accruals, prepayments, inventory and depreciation
• Completing project-related balance sheet reconciliations
• Providing financial analysis and commentary to operational and technical teams
• Supporting improvements across site cost reporting, KPIs and finance processes

About You

• Management accounting experience within mining
• Experience supporting operational or site-based stakeholders
• Sound understanding of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and inventory valuation
• Strong month-end reporting, journal preparation and reconciliation experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling and variance analysis
• Pronto ERP experience 
• Accounting, finance or commerce degree
• CA or CPA qualified, or currently working towards completion
• Willingness to travel interstate for approximately one week each month
• Current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights

• Modern Subiaco corporate office, near trainline 
• Circa $130,000 + superannuation 
• Approx. one week per month at the company’s interstate mine site
• Reports to the Financial Controller
