Mine Planning Engineer – Open Pit
Your Role
- With the mining contractor delivering daily schedules and drill and blast, your focus will be on planning and scheduling to the weekly to three-monthly horizon using Deswik
- Waste dump & ramp design, pit optimisation, infrastructure planning also involved
- You can also expect to assist the senior engineer with long-term planning as required
Your growth
- While you will ideally have a QM ticket or have completed your time for same, it is anticipated that the planned growth of the tech services offering will allow you the ability to get the time under your belt in the medium term
- In addition to the near mine, open-pit development, there are also plans to go underground; prospect to get extended into that space as they do
- The culture of autonomy and self-reliance, with appropriate oversight, will empower you to stretch your technical comfort zone
The company
- While a junior, shrewd business decisions mean they are debt free, realising sound margins, unhedged, and are debt free
- This is seeing a strong cash position increasing quarter on quarter; allowing for accelerated exploration, considerations around NPI infrastructure updates, and other perks
The logistics
- 8/6 roster ex-Perth – circa 90 min flight
- $150 – 170 + super + STIP program
- Directly report to a highly experienced Mining Engineer (with Stat Responsibilities) and have a dotted line to the LT Planning Engineer
About you
- Tertiary Qualifications in Mining Engineering
- Proven experience in open pit planning and scheduling, weekly to three monthly, ideally with Deswik – likely in the ~ 3-5 yr bracket
- Comfort with, and interest in, working in the dynamism that comes with a tech services function in a junior on the upswing
- Quarry Manager’s Certification (or ability to get one) strongly regarded
- Gold experience strongly regarded
