Play at key role with one of Australia’s largest and most respected gold mining companies as a Senior Open Pit Mine Geologist. We are seeking experienced Geologists for Senior and Mine Geologist positions to support a newly developed open pit operation. This opportunity is based in the Murchison region, offering an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth and the chance to advance your geology career with a major industry leader.

About the Role:

As an Open Pit Geologist, you will provide geological support and work along side the Mining Teams day-to-day to ensure effective ore control, you will utilise your expertise to monitor and guide alignment between geological interpretations and mining activities. You will play a key role to help keep geology and mining tightly aligned as the operation gets up and running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and improving grade control processes and data collection
  • Checking and validating geological interpretations in active pits
  • Reviewing reconciliation to see how the model compares to actual production
  • Mentoring junior geology site members
  • Maximise ore recovery, reduce dilution, and improve the confidence of short-term production forecasts

About You

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Geologist in WA mining
  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology
  • Understanding of Sampling Theory and QAQC
  • Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Clean Police Clearance
