Open Pit Mine Geologist

Play at key role with one of Australia’s largest and most respected gold mining companies as an Open Pit Mine Geologist. We are seeking experienced Geologists for Senior and Mine Geologist positions to support a newly developed open pit operation. This opportunity is based in the Murchison region, offering an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth and the chance to advance your geology career with a major industry leader.

About the Role:

As an Open Pit Geologist, you will provide geological support and work along side the Mining Teams day-to-day to ensure effective ore control, you will utilise your expertise to monitor and guide alignment between geological interpretations and mining activities. You will play a key role to help keep geology and mining tightly aligned as the operation gets up and running.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and improving grade control processes and data collection
• Checking and validating geological interpretations in active pits
• Reviewing reconciliation to see how the model compares to actual production
• Mentoring junior geology site members
• Maximise ore recovery, reduce dilution, and improve the confidence of short-term production forecasts

About You

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Geologist in WA mining
• Tertiary Qualification in Geology
• Understanding of Sampling Theory and QAQC
• Manual Driver’s Licence
• Full Australian Working Rights
• Clean Police Clearance
