Operations Manager

Our client is an industry leading gold producer seeking an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of one of their flagship operations, managing site performance, drive production growth, and play a critical leadership role in the next phase of the operation’s journey.

This newly created permanent position offers the opportunity to step into a pivotal role with strong executive support, modern equipment, and clear long-term career progression.

About the Role Reporting to the Mining Manager, the Operations Manager will lead a large operational workforce through a team of five direct reports, including Mining Superintendents, Project Superintendent, Senior Engineer and Administration.

The broader operation encompasses approximately 180+ personnel across mining, projects, paste and support teams.

The role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving productivity, strengthening accountability, and embedding a high-performance culture across the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a large multidisciplinary underground mining team
• Drive production uplift through systematic performance improvement
• Implement data-driven decision making and continuous improvement frameworks
• Strengthen accountability and execution across all operational levels
• Support and develop senior leaders to deliver consistent business results
• Champion workforce engagement and cultural improvement initiatives
• Maintain safe, compliant and efficient site operations

About You To be successful, you will bring:

• Significant operational leadership experience within a complex underground mining environment
• Demonstrated experience managing operations of substantial scale 
• Proven ability to improve performance at both individual and organizational levels
• Strong commercial, operational and people leadership capability
• A collaborative leadership style with the drive to deliver sustained results

Highly desirable:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
• Ability to step into an SSE function on an as-required basis
• WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency

• Base salary $250,000 – $280,000 (commensurate with experience)
