About the role and about you
The client will ideally engage an experienced Payroll Team Leader, with the potential to step into a management role. This position will oversee both onshore and offshore functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading the offshore payroll team, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for 150-350 offshore staff, many of whom are contractors.
- Managing payroll for an international workforce, including cross-border operations in Asia.
- Handling manual payroll processes due to limited access for crews on ships.
- Providing hands-on leadership, guiding the team, and being the go-to person for escalations.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle.
- Managing complex payroll operations for crews working 24/7.
- Ensuring compliance with visa requirements, certificates of coverage, and other cross-border regulations.
- Overseeing EOM reporting, reconciliations, ATO dealings, superannuation obligations, compliance, reporting, tax effectiveness, insurance, workers’ compensation, and interactions with government bodies for parental leave, etc.
- Implementing one-touch superannuation processes.
About You:
- Proven experience in payroll management, preferably with international workforce and cross-border operations.
- Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to handle complex payroll operations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
