Production Engineer – Contract

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented and motivated Mining Engineer to join a leading underground gold operation in a contract position based in the Goldfields region. This Perth FIFO role offers the perfect balance of professional growth and lifestyle, with an 8:6 roster, modern site amenities, and strong community connections.

As part of a collaborative and high-performing Technical Services team, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and innovative mining operations. You’ll be involved in everything from short-term scheduling and drill & blast QA/QC to improvement projects that drive long-term performance and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver weekly mine schedules aligned with production targets and long-term plans.
• Prepare and communicate clear work instructions for production and ancillary crews.
• Manage drill and blast QA/QC activities, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise mining performance and cost efficiency.
• Track and report production performance against KPIs, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Contribute to technical innovation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and support graduate and junior engineers, fostering team growth and capability.

About You

You’re a hands-on Mining Engineer with a passion for operational excellence and a drive to make an impact in a fast-paced underground environment. You enjoy solving problems, working in a team, and finding smarter ways to get things done.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• A degree in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• A current WA “C” Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
• Experience in underground production or drill & blast engineering.
• Proficiency in Deswik or similar mine design software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, safety-first mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
