An opportunity to join an ASX-listed gold producer in a senior FP&A role supporting its interstate mining operations.

Based in the company’s Subiaco corporate office and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead operational budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis across the business.

The position includes regular interstate site travel, allowing you to work directly with operational and technical stakeholders, understand the drivers behind performance and translate financial information into practical commercial insight.

Day-to-day matters will include:

  • Leading annual budgets and rolling forecasts across operating and capital expenditure
  • Developing financial models using mine plans, production schedules and operating assumptions
  • Preparing site P&L, unit-cost and KPI reporting, including cost-per-tonne, cost-per-ounce and AISC analysis
  • Investigating performance against budget and forecast with site personnel
  • Identifying the operational drivers behind variances and recommending appropriate actions
  • Providing analysis and commentary to operational, technical and finance stakeholders
  • Supporting capital investment decisions through scenario modelling, NPV and payback analysis
  • Reviewing stockpile, ore-in-circuit, gold-in-process and metal-accounting information
  • Preparing financial analysis for executive, Board and quarterly reporting
  • Supporting commercial matters relating to contracts, suppliers and purchasing commitments
  • Improving management reporting, financial models, dashboards and planning processes
  • Supporting the development of finance systems, cost-centre structures and coding standards

About You

  • Senior FP&A, management accounting or commercial finance experience within mining or resources
  • Experience partnering with operational, technical and site-based stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of mining cost drivers, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
  • Advanced financial modelling and Excel capability
  • Ability to interpret operational and financial information and communicate the underlying story clearly
  • Experience preparing analysis and recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • ERP and business intelligence reporting experience
  • Accounting, finance or commerce degree
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Willingness to undertake regular interstate site travel
  • Current driver’s licence and full Australian working rights

  • Modern Subiaco corporate office, near trainline
  • Circa $160,000 – $180,000 + superannuation, commensurate with experience
