Senior General Manager Operations

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior General Manager Operations to join a well established Australian mining company in a significant operational leadership role.

This is an immediate start contract opportunity, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.

Reporting at a senior executive level, you will take ownership of a complex mining operation, providing strategic and operational leadership across a large workforce and processing environment. This is an opportunity for an experienced mining leader who can step in, build trust quickly and deliver safe, productive and commercially disciplined operations.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior General Manager Operations, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership across the operation, ensuring the business continues to deliver against its safety, production, people and commercial objectives.
You will lead a large and diverse workforce of up to 2,000 personnel, working closely with operational, technical and corporate stakeholders to drive performance and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Extensive senior operational leadership experience within the mining industry
• Proven experience leading a workforce of up to 2,000 personnel
• Strong experience overseeing a large-scale processing plant
• A track record of leading safe, productive and commercially disciplined operations
• SSE certification – essential
• Strong strategic, commercial and operational leadership capability
• The ability to lead and influence across a complex mining environment
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
• The ability to step into a senior leadership position and make an immediate impact
