THE OPPORTUNITY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a well-established mid-tier mining company based in West Perth.
You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of approximately 250 employees while also providing support across accounts payable and broader finance operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a payroll professional who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and wants to be part of a collaborative and high-performing team. WHAT YOU BRING
- Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a standalone or senior payroll capacity.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and compliance requirements.
- Experience processing payroll within a medium-sized organisation.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support wider finance team responsibilities.
- Experience assisting with Accounts Payable and general finance administration.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using Pronto ERP will be highly regarded.
- Mining, resources, engineering, or related industry experience will be advantageous.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 250 employees.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Maintain employee payroll records and payroll-related reporting.
- Manage payroll reconciliations, PAYG, superannuation, and payroll compliance obligations.
- Respond to payroll queries and provide excellent internal customer service to employees and managers.
- Support month-end processes and payroll-related reporting requirements.
- Assist with Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing and supplier management.
- Provide support across broader finance functions as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies within payroll and finance.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
