THE OPPORTUNITY 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join a well-established mid-tier mining company based in West Perth.
You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for a workforce of approximately 250 employees while also providing support across accounts payable and broader finance operations. This is a hands-on role suited to a payroll professional who enjoys variety, values accuracy, and wants to be part of a collaborative and high-performing team. WHAT YOU BRING 

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a standalone or senior payroll capacity.
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, awards, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience processing payroll within a medium-sized organisation.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet critical payroll deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to support wider finance team responsibilities.
  • Experience assisting with Accounts Payable and general finance administration.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using Pronto ERP will be highly regarded.
  • Mining, resources, engineering, or related industry experience will be advantageous.

 YOUR DAY-TO-DAY 

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 250 employees.
  • Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time in accordance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and payroll-related reporting.
  • Manage payroll reconciliations, PAYG, superannuation, and payroll compliance obligations.
  • Respond to payroll queries and provide excellent internal customer service to employees and managers.
  • Support month-end processes and payroll-related reporting requirements.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable activities, including invoice processing and supplier management.
  • Provide support across broader finance functions as required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process efficiencies within payroll and finance.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
