A leading Australian gold producer is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer – Underground Production to play a pivotal role in the safe and efficient extraction of gold from a dynamic and expanding underground operation. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a technically complex, growing site with an orebody that is ever growing both at depth and strike.

Reporting to the Alternate Underground Manager, this role will be instrumental in planning and delivering production strategies aligned with short to medium-term targets. You’ll be working at a site that is undergoing a significant growth phase, with evolving mine designs, major capital projects, and a high-performing team environment. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced underground engineer ready to influence mine development and production outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement production schedules (weekly, monthly, quarterly) aligned with operational goals
  • Lead the stope design and drill & blast planning process to optimize recovery and minimize dilution
  • Reconcile physicals vs plans and support end-of-month reporting and claims
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative, performance-focused team culture
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and business development activities
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and policies
  • Communicate key production risks and opportunities to senior leadership

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (or working toward)
  • Demonstrated underground production engineering experience – ideally within gold mining
  • Experience across both contractor and owner-operated environments
  • Competency with mining software such as Deswik, Deswik Scheduler, and Ventsim
  • Strong leadership, communication and mentoring skills
  • Proactive, safety-focused, and driven to deliver results
