We are seeking an experienced Underground Trainer & Assessor to join a leading underground mining operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled underground mining professional who is passionate about developing people, driving safety performance, and ensuring workforce competency across a diverse underground operation.
Reporting to the relevant operational leadership team, you will play a key role in delivering, assessing and continuously improving training programs to ensure personnel are competent, compliant and capable of performing their roles safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver and assess competency-based training programs for underground operational personnel.
- Ensure employees and contractors are trained and assessed to the required standards and maintain ongoing competency.
- Develop and implement site-wide training and development initiatives that support operational and business objectives.
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of training systems and processes to ensure statutory compliance.
- Coordinate and deliver site inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Maintain robust systems to ensure personnel are appropriately trained and aware of critical controls, procedures and workplace requirements.
- Develop, review and improve training materials, learning resources and assessment tools.
- Deliver high-quality training to both site-based and office-based personnel.
- Maintain accurate training records and competency matrices.
- Support operational leaders in identifying training needs and workforce development opportunities.
- Promote a strong safety culture through effective coaching, mentoring and leadership.
About You To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Extensive underground metalliferous mining experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Trainer & Assessor within an underground mining environment.
- Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116 or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of competency-based training and assessment principles.
- Current underground mining licences and the ability to demonstrate operational competency across a range of underground equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mining legislation, training compliance and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills.
- High attention to detail and strong administrative capabilities.
- Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the business.
