Working as part of the Technical Services team and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting underground production through practical mine planning, scheduling and engineering analysis.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and achievable underground mining plans, working closely with site operations and mining contractors to ensure plans translate effectively into production.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with short and medium-term underground mine planning and optimisation.
- Developing and maintaining production schedules, forecasts and planning documentation.
- Producing practical underground mine designs that align with operational requirements.
- Reviewing production performance and identifying opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Supporting budgeting, reporting and Life of Mine planning activities.
- Working closely with mining contractors and underground operational teams to ensure plans are practical and achievable.
- Collaborating with Geology, Survey and Technical Services to deliver integrated mining outcomes.
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across safety, productivity and cost performance.
- Supporting a strong safety culture across all technical and operational activities.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Mining Engineer who combines solid technical capability with a practical, hands-on approach to underground mining.
Ideally, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
- At least one year of post-graduate experience following completion of a Graduate Mining Engineer program.
- Previous underground mining experience within a production environment, ideally having completed your underground time.
- Exposure to underground mine planning, scheduling and production engineering.
- Experience working alongside mining contractors and operational teams.
- Competency with relevant mine planning and design software.
- Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- The ability to develop positive working relationships across technical and operational teams.
- A proactive mindset and genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
